Services Expert nursing, residential and dementia care
There are a number of reasons why you may be looking for a care home, and we will work with you to pinpoint the type of service that's right for you or your loved one.
We provide residential, nursing and dementia care in homes across South East England and East Anglia on a long-term or short-term basis. Residential care might be the solution if your loved one is finding it difficult to cope at home and needs full-time help. Perhaps your relative needs nursing assistance while recuperating from an operation or specialist round-the-clock dementia care.
Short-term care might be the answer if you need an extra pair of hands to help the person you care for, while you have a well-deserved break. Spending a week or two with us is also a great opportunity to give your loved one a taste of life within one of our homes.
Whatever service you opt for, you can rest assured the level of personable care we deliver is consistently high, day or night. We don't compromise on service and work hard to promote best practice. We want to ensure our team is completely in tune with the needs of our residents, and genuinely passionate in caring for others. Part of this involves employing the right people from the start and our recruitment puts a high emphasis on finding likeminded people who portray a natural empathy.
Compassion is vital, especially when caring for those with dementia. We have broken down the barriers. If you walk into any of our homes, you’ll notice how informal they are. Our staff do not wear uniforms and are often seen as extended members of the family.
Individual care plans
We assess residents on their medical needs prior to their admission into our homes. This is a detailed assessment to pinpoint the type of care they require. We also use this time to find out as much information as we can about the resident – their life history, likes, dislikes and passions.
Medical assessments and monitoring
Our homes forge close links with medical practices in the community to ensure all care needs are met. This applies across the board, from language therapists to doctors, and residents from the local area can retain their own GP if they wish.
Our residents are weighed weekly without fail. This is vital as it provides useful information on whether a resident has had the right intake of food and hydration. The weight is plotted on a graph, which helps us view any significant increases or decreases. Loss of appetite or lack of hydration could lead to a resident deteriorating or developing symptoms like pressure sores.
If a resident is off their food, we work with our chefs or bring in dieticians to see how we can get their appetite back or enhance their diet. This could be by preparing their favourite foods, giving extra supplements or delicious high calorie milkshakes.
Blood pressure is monitored on a monthly basis unless a resident has specific medical needs, for example, issues with their heart or kidney. In these cases, blood pressure will be frequently monitored.
Personal care and hygiene
We are very sensitive when it comes to helping residents to bath, dress and maintain their personal hygiene.
This can be a very sensitive issue. We don’t make assumptions. Everyone is different – and our job is to help each resident maintain their routine, while promoting independence as much as possible.
