Acorn Court Staff Win Heart Of Gold Awards
Acorn Court Care Home announces two worthy winners of the inaugural Carebase Heart of Gold Awards at a ceremony, which took place at the Redhill home on Thursday 9th July. Nominated by the residents, relatives, co-workers, suppliers and social workers at Acorn Court, Eulana George, a Senior Care Assistant in the Elderly Care unit and Monica Buruiana, a Registered Nurse in the Acquired Brain Injury unit, each received a Heart of Gold Award for their continued care and compassion and for going the extra mile.
The nominations were awash with heartfelt messages of thanks and appreciation, one reading: “Eulana has always been a real friend to my dad, kind and patient with all of us, always happy and smiling – a real credit to Acorn Court. We love her.” Another read: “Monica is very caring and focused in her job, she is dedicated and will often stay late or cover extra shifts should the need arise. Our daughter responds so well to Monica as she has such a calm nature.”
Rosalynde Ward, Manager of Acorn Court’s Acquired Brain Injury unit, was also honoured at the awards ceremony, receiving the Chairman’s Heart of Gold Award, selected by Alnur Dhanani, Chairman of Carebase from all the nominations across the care homes.
Bill Howell, Manager of Acorn Court, commented: “The Heart of Gold Awards has provided Carebase with a tangible way of showing our staff members how highly they are appreciated. The hard work and dedication of all members of the team is evident in the happiness of our residents and the awards have provided everyone with links to the home the opportunity to say ‘Thank You’.”
The Heart of Gold Awards will be an annual event across the all the Carebase care homes. Each Winner received a Tiffany ‘heart of gold’ necklace (or an Armani watch), a bottle of Champagne and an etched glass plaque to commemorate the achievement. Carebase will now look to its Heart of Gold Award winners to be ambassadors to inspire their colleagues and teams to promote the highest levels of care and compassion in each of its care homes.
