List of care homes
Acorn Court
Acorn Court in Redhill, Surrey, boasts a close-knit environment with highly trained and compassionate individuals cherry picked to work at the mature care home.
Stylishly decorated and furnished to an exceptionally high standard, the home offers residential, nursing and dementia care. It has picked up many awards along the way, which are testament to the excellent service it provides. These include the Caring Times National Award for Care Manager of the Year, a Surrey Care Association Award and the Great British Award for Registered Manager of the Year.
The family-orientated setting sees residents’ families as an integral part of life. A Relatives’ Support Group provides welcome support to those new to the home from families that have been in the same boat. They can provide advice, answer questions on what to expect, and assure you that everything will be okay.
The relative support group is there to provide help and an insight from those that have been through similar experiences. My husband is a resident at the home with severe dementia and this group has provided me with much needed support. Pat Rogers, Resident's Wife
Life at Acorn Court
Among the many facilities, the home features a well-stocked library where residents can enjoy quiet time or a bar for social interaction. It also proves a popular venue for hosting intimate private parties. The most recent were centenary birthday parties for two of the residents.
The grounds with a lovely patio plus sensory flower and herb gardens are in full bloom, thanks to the resident gardening club that works tirelessly to create a wonderful sanctuary for everyone to enjoy. The latest project in the pipeline is the installation of a water feature.
The weekly planned activities programme is full and varied. Residents can also go on outings which are arranged three times a week. These include local trips like canal boat rides, visits to garden centres and greyhound racing. Trips further afield include visits to museums and galleries.
End of life care
End of life planning is not an area that most of us like to discuss. However, this can be a vital source of help for families that perhaps have been told their loved one has a terminal illness and only has a short time left. We can help make this period as comfortable as possible for the resident. We work closely with a local hospice to ensure all emotional support needs are met.

Dear Monica
Words cannot express the gratitude Roger and I have for all the care, attention and love you showed mum during her stay in Acorn Court. Not only did all the staff take great care of her daily needs, but the fact that each resident is treated according to their individual requirements was very reassuring to know.
The caring atmosphere starts on first entering the home, with the friendly greeting from the staff who were always very helpful. The reception area always looked very bright and decorated differently according to the time of year.
We are so grateful for the understanding and advice you provided us with through the whole process.Thank you once again to all at Acorn Court

Dear Monica,
We wanted to write this letter to thank you and all the staff at Acorn Court for the care and support given to Nigel and us over the last couple of months.
You have always been at the end of the phone and everything possible was being done to ensure Nigel had the care he needed wherever there was a change in his symptoms.
Kind regards,
