Aspen Grange
This tastefully furnished purpose-built home is spread across two floors, offering residential, nursing and dementia care. The home boasts a highly-skilled team of people that has also undergone thorough dementia-specific training, and is currently working towards achieving the coveted butterfly services kite mark.
Aspen Grange takes extra care in settling in residents as smoothly as possible, making them feel part of life at the home incredibly quickly. Residents can choose the room that appeals to them most and are encouraged to bring belongings from home to help create their own personal haven.
When my husband deteriorated after being diagnosed with dementia, I was exhausted and devastated that he would have to go into a home. I liked what I saw at Aspen Grange. The staff are lovely and would do anything for him. Margaret Cornwell, resident's wife
Life at Aspen Grange
Aspen Grange offers a range of elegant spaces for residents to enjoy social interaction and quiet time, both within the home and outdoors.
There are a variety of facilities, including a popular hair salon, while external services are brought in from therapists to fitness instructors. We are particularly proud of our beautiful gardens which are tended to and enjoyed by residents and staff alike
Aspen Grange promotes an active lifestyle and has a full timetable of activities to help residents pass the time in the most enjoyable way possible. The home also hosts a variety of events proving there’s rarely a dull moment. The recent 1950's day saw staff and residents dress the part and popular food from the decade served. While the Country and Western show encouraged everyone to have a good old sing along and some even took to the dance floor for a twirl or two.
Thanks to access to a private mini bus, day trips are arranged each Thursday from visits to Colchester and picnics in the park to visiting local farms and garden centres.
The home has close links to the local community including nearby schools with students regularly visiting residents. While, the local priest pays a visit to perform a popular church service on a regular basis.

Rhoda Potts-Casey, Care Services Manager
Rhoda joined Aspen Grange in Braintree in January 2011 as the Care Services Manager. She supports the care home manager in the day-to-day running of the home. Rhoda is responsible for ensuring all staff receive training to assist them in their roles. She is certain that as a mental health nurse it was important to also have good clinical skills, which she feels she has gained through her years of experience and continued training and development.
