Bramley Court
Bramley Court in Histon, Cambridgeshire, takes the high level of elderly care throughout the residential, nursing and dementia services it provides very seriously.
This is Bramley Court’s forte and testament to this is being classed in the top five per cent of care homes achieving the Butterfly Service Home kite mark across the country for its specialist dementia care service. This accreditation is attributed by Dementia Care Matters – an organisation dedicated to bettering the care of those with the illness.
The stylishly-decorated accommodation spread over three floors has a homely and welcoming feel, with a variety of spaces like the bar and lounge areas for social interaction and a well-stocked library for private time.
The person-centred care the 65-strong team delivers is what makes the home outstanding. Staff are dedicated and compassionate in everything they do, which means residents feel loved, warm and comfortable at Bramley Court.
The best thing about what I do is making a difference, whether it’s for the residents, their families or our staff. Rachael Watts, Home Manager
Life at Bramley Court
The purpose-built residential care home enjoys a variety of facilities, which include an on-site hairdressing salon and external services like visiting therapists and chiropodists.
SONAS therapy is very popular at the home, which is an innovative technique that evokes the senses through a series of one-to-one and small group sessions. The effect it has on residents is a dramatic one, particularly with dementia sufferers. They are more responsive, alert and engaged.
The home has close links with the local community and the many events the home holds, like summer fetes or 1940s days, are also open to the community. While, residents enjoy visits from local talent like entertainers and fitness instructors.

Dear Maureen,
I have written an official letter of thanks to you to let you know how privilidged we feel to have had Mary placed at Bramley Court.
I am very grateful to all the staff on Cherry Unit. I saw how skilled and kind everyone was to Mary but I also appreciated the time you took to acquaint me with what was happening. You gave me great support and confidence. Thank you.
Yours ever,
Gareth
