Brooklands
When you cross the threshold, the first thing you will notice is the wonderful homely feel Brooklands encapsulates.
It houses happy residents that have made it their home for many years. The family feel is threaded through the three floors where residents and staff get along famously.
Brooklands has lovely grounds - a mix of lawn, raised flowerbeds and allotments - and is also home to three lively and well loved chickens. It also overlooks fields where horses are reared. This provides a wonderful view from the dining rooms – bringing back happy memories for many a resident.
There are spacious elegant lounges and dining rooms on each floor, which serve an assortment of delicious and freshly prepared meals. Their speciality however, which proves incredibly popular with the residents, is the traditional best of British food.
There’s certainly never a dull moment at Brooklands, as it offers a fantastic programme of activities and events. A designated activities co-ordinator is always on the lookout for inspiring ideas to put a smile on residents’ faces. From pottery and flower arranging to line dancing and 1950s parties, there’s something for everyone.
Staff at Brooklands were kind and caring in dealing with mum’s needs, which made the transition so much easier. Despite problems with dementia, mum built relationships with staff who encouraged her love of song and poetry. We relaxed because we knew mum was okay. Lindsey Wright, resident's daughter
Life at Brooklands
Carebase is instrumental in ensuring that all of its homes are equipped to a very high standard and Brooklands is currently enjoying an on-going refurbishment programme.
The historic 18th century farmhouse and tasteful décor all lends itself to creating an incredibly warm and welcoming atmosphere. It instantly makes everyone feel at home.
There are a variety of spaces for the residents to socialise in, quieter areas, a hairdressing salon for those pampering moments and beautiful grounds for daily strolls and gardening. The home has forged close links with the local community and a variety of local businesses from therapists to fitness instructors visit the home on a regular basis.
