The Spinney
Life at the Spinney is not just about being in safe hands thanks to the high level of care provided by a fully-qualified team of staff. It is about enjoying life to the fullest and the extensive programme of activities organised each day means that your loved one can pick and choose to their heart’s content. From arts and crafts to bingo and keep fit, there’s something to suit all tastes.
Plenty of fun, lots of laughter and friends for life makes time at the Spinney a truly wonderful experience. Coupled with an elegant environment and delicious food means that friends and family can even find it hard to leave.
A vital factor in this is the staff who make extra efforts to integrate every new resident to the home. They are not part of the fixtures and fittings, but family-orientated individuals that play a vital role in everyday life. This could be anything from reading a newspaper with one resident to giving another a pampering manicure to simply having a coffee and a chat.
Day trips are organised each week both locally and further afield. A recent visit to Bethnal Green Toy Museum proved very popular and the residents can never get enough of trips to local garden centres.
Life at The Spinney
The Spinney is located in a beautiful spot, overlooking the Chingford golf course on one side and a vast forested area on the other. The home itself houses sensory gardens, full of vibrant colour and fragrance. It features a lovely pagoda and conservatory, which residents particularly enjoy on sunny days.
Our staff have a thorough understanding of each resident thanks to a comprehensive individual care plan that is updated and reviewed all the time. We know their history, we know their likes and dislikes, we know their favourite food and special dietary requirements and we know their care needs.
Our residents have mostly lived their life in the surrounding area so it’s important that we forge close local links so they still feel part of the community. We have a priest from a nearby church come in to perform a service, for example, and a local school entertaining residents with end-of-term singing. We take our residents shopping on the local high street and fill them in on the local news.

Dear Maureen,
I have written an official letter of thanks to Bramley Court via Matthew to let him know how privilidged we feel to have had Mary placed at Bramley Court.
I am very grateful to all the staff on Cherry Unit but I particularly wanted to thank you. I saw how skilled and kind you were to Mary but I also appreciated the time you took to acquaint me with what was happening. You gave me great support and confidence. Thank you.
Yours ever,
Gareth

Dear Sarah,
Just a note to express our thanks for the wonderful care you are giving Dad.
We are delighted with the improvement in his mobility and healing of his legs in such a short space of time. This is all down to such excellent care and attention by all your wonderful team.
We no longer have the anxiety over Dad's well being and feel so reassured that he is being properly cared for.
With grateful thanks to you all.
Yours sincerely,
Melanie Sargeant (daughter) & Deborah Wellings (daughter)
