On Saturday 15 November Carebase won the Care Employer of the Year Award at the Great British Care Awards at the London Finals held at The Great Connaught Rooms in London.

Carebase seeks to recruit and retain the best staff possible in its homes, to offer continuity and high quality care for residents. This impressive accolade acknowledges and celebrates Carebase’s commitment and approach to ensuring all its staff feel valued and engaged to deliver the very highest standards of care and support to its residents.

Carebase invests in its staff through training and professional development, recognising excellence and sharing best practice and ideas.  Each year Carebase hosts its ‘Heart of Gold’ Awards week, where staff, from carers to maintenance workers, nurses to chefs, are recognised for their care and dedication. During Carers Week in June staff in the homes are pampered with a variety of treats every day. Reflecting the organisations ethos, Directors and Senior Managers of Carebase are actively visible and accessible to all staff, embedding a culture of open and honest communication. These initiatives result in an environment where everyone feels valued, teams flourish and residents receive the highest quality care and compassion.

The Great British Care Awards are a leading awards scheme which are a celebration of excellence across the care sector. The purpose of the awards is to promote best practice within the sector and pay tribute to those individuals who have demonstrated outstanding excellence within their field of work.

Nicola Coveney, Managing Director, Carebase, says: “We are absolutely delighted to have won such a prestigious industry award. All of our homes are committed to delivering compassionate care and we are extremely proud of our hard working, well-respected and much-loved teams. They work tirelessly to ensure our residents have an improved quality of life.  We truly believe in recognizing this outstanding contribution.”
