Carebase directors get back to the floor
27th October 2011
Carebase’s annual ‘back to the floor’ campaign took place last week and saw four lucky Carebase care homes win help from central office directors and managers for the afternoon, following a prize raffle draw. The raffle was held at Carebase’s annual congress earlier this year, where amongst other raffle prizes for the homes (including iPads, a helicopter/plane lesson and various other treats for staff) the directors and managers were paired up and sent into the homes for an afternoon of various domestic duties!
Andrew Mangion, Operations Director, and Keith Hawley, Director, spent the afternoon at one of the homes. Andrew and Keith got green fingered and helped the residents with the gardens and allotment.
Nicola Coveney, Managing Director, spent the afternoon as a cleaner. Nicola donned her marigold gloves and helped out with the vacuuming, dusting and tidying up after lunch.
Mike Hirsch, Properties Director, and Phillipa Morley, HR Manager, spent the afternoon at Acorn Court care home in Redhill as waiters. Mike and Phillipa gave residents a five star treatment serving them a full lunch.
Maria Treadaway, Marketing Manager, and Suzannah Tolba, Marketing Executive, spent the afternoon working as carers. Maria and Suzannah got stuck in straight away helping residents with meal times and also taking part in the various activities.
Nicola Coveney said: “It’s always a delight to visit the homes and spend time with the residents. We all had lots of fun with the staff at the homes who all made the most out of having us there for the afternoon!”
Alnur Dhanani, Chairman, Carebase, said: “The directors and managers had a wonderful time at the homes. Not only is it a bit of fun for the residents and staff but it also gives us a chance to really get involved and see what a wonderful job everyone does. We look forward to our raffles tasks next year!”
