Deserving winners claim Carebase’s Heart of Gold Awards
13th October 2011
Carebase presented 15 worthy employees with the company’s prestigious Heart of Gold Awards this week.
The Heart of Gold Awards, which were launched by Carebase in 2009, are nominated by residents, relatives, co-workers, suppliers and social workers and seek to thank employees across the 12 homes for their continued care and compassion. There is also a special Chairman’s Award, which is given to the employee who has gone above and beyond the call of duty and it is the top award to aspire to.
Previous winners have proved to be inspirational ambassadors encouraging colleagues to provide the highest levels of care and dedication to their residents and the home.
The winners received an engraved glass plaque presented to them at their care home, along with an Armani watch presented to the men and a Tiffany ‘Heart of Gold’ necklace for the women.
Carebase is acutely aware of the incredible work all of its staff undertake on a daily basis and the Heart of Gold Awards provide a way of recognising this. Caring for the residents requires compassion and dedication ; something that all Carebase employees pride themselves on and the qualities that make Carebase such a special place for the residents to live and the staff to work.
The homes are staffed by people who have received excellent training and ongoing support, but that are also highly passionate and dedicated towards their jobs.
Recipients of the awards included carers, administrators, unit leaders, a maintenance worker and activities coordinators, proving that it is not only the carers that make the lives of the residents more enjoyable and comfortable, but all the staff who contribute to the smooth running of the care home.
Many wonderful nominations were received for the winners and there were some beautiful words of gratitude and recognition for all their hard work and commitment.
Nicola Coveney, Managing Director, Carebase, says: “We consider ourselves to be extremely fortunate to have such wonderful staff working at the care homes, striving to make the lives of those they work with better. We are delighted to have presented so many staff with the Heart of Gold Awards this year and thank them from the bottom of our hearts for all their commitment and compassion.”
