TV’s Fiona Phillips officially opens Carebase’s Alderwood Care Home in Colchester

TV personality, Fiona Phillips, joined Colchester’s Mayor, Helen Chuah, and the staff and residents of Alderwood to officially open the wonderful new care home.

Alderwood Care Home opened in August this year and has state-of-the-art facilities, including an in-house cinema, sensory room, hair salon, brasserie, private dining facilities and also boasts wonderful gardens and outdoor space. Fiona Phillips enjoyed the afternoon of champagne and canapés with residents, their families, staff and guests.

Fiona Phillips was extremely impressed with the home and very excited to be there. She has visited many homes in the past for personal reasons and said she wished they were all as bright, spacious, well equipped and beautifully designed as the new Alderwood Care Home.  Fiona spent time with home manager, Dawn Sharp, who explained the unique approach to care delivered at Alderwood by its dedicated staff team.
